Self-Sleepiness Test

The Epworth Sleepiness Test

How likely are you to doze off or fall asleep in the following situations?

Choose the most appropriate number for each situation:

  • 0 = Would never doze
  • 1 = Slight chance of dozing
  • 2 = Moderate chance of dozing
  • 3 = High chance of dozing

The only way to find out if you have obstructive sleep apnea is to have a sleep test at a qualified sleep center, but scoring 9 or above on the Epworth Sleepiness test is an indication that you should see a doctor. Please feel free to print and fill out this test to take with you when you see a physician.
